Sexuality is a powerful and divine force, often misunderstood, exploited, or diminished in ways that leave many disconnected from its true, sacred nature. For Soulaan Feminas, especially, our relationship with sexuality has been shaped by centuries of trauma, hypersexualization, and exploitation. From the legacy of slavery and colonization to modern-day media portrayals and societal expectations, Soulaan Feminas have had to navigate a world where our bodies and sexual energy have often been viewed as property rather than sacred. Yet, there is a deep, transformative power in reclaiming our sexuality as sacred: a power that lies in healing, empowerment, and ultimately, pleasure.

In this study guide, we will journey through the sacred reclamation of our bodies and sexual energy, shedding the layers of shame, trauma, and cultural conditioning that have kept us disconnected from our divine selves. Each module will focus on different aspects of this reclamation, starting with understanding the concept of sacred sexuality itself; how it goes beyond physical pleasure to encompass spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being. For the purpose of this guide, sexuality refers to sexual behavior, desire, and health, and has no reflection on orientation or gender identity.

We’ll explore the process of reclaiming the body as a radical act of love and resistance, addressing the importance of boundaries and autonomy as tools for healing. The wisdom of our ancestors will guide us in understanding how sexuality was once honored in many African and Disaporacultures, where it was viewed as a divine force capable of creating, healing, and renewing.

We will also reflect on the trauma of hypersexualization, the ways it has shaped how we view our bodies and our sexuality, and how we can dismantle these narratives in favor of a more authentic, empowering self-understanding. In this journey, we’ll not only reclaim sacred sexuality but also recognize the power of pleasure; a powerful tool for healing and spiritual growth. Pleasure, when embraced as a sacred practice, becomes a means of connecting with our bodies and our divine essence, healing past wounds, and experiencing wholeness.

This study will encourage you to create a new narrative; one where your sexuality is yours to define, where you are free from societal expectations, and where you can embrace your sexual energy as a source of power, creativity, and joy. With a focus on sexual autonomy and mutual respect in relationships, we will explore how to empower ourselves through consent, pleasure, and mindful connection with others.
